Description
Theriso, nestled at the foot of the White Mountains, is known for its historic role in the Cretan Revolution and the resistance against the Germans. The landscape is lush, filled with walnut and plane trees and flowing waters. The dining experience takes place in a traditional village taverna, with a view of the mountain peaks and a menu inspired by Cretan pastoral traditions, focusing on meats, local cheeses, and mountain herbs.
Before or afterthe the Meal:
Visit the Historical Museum of Theriso, dedicated to the 1905 Revolution led by Eleftherios Venizelos. Walk through the Theriso Gorge with its impressive rock formations and rich nature, or enjoy a coffee in the village square under centuries-old plane trees. The road to the village offers unique scenic routes overlooking the gorge and the Cretan countryside.
